Faulkes Telescope North is located on Mount Haleakala on the island of Maui, Hawaii.  The Heleakala Observatory site is 3000 metres above sea level.

 

The telescope is a research-quality 2-metre reflecting telescope.  It was built by Telescope Technologies Limited, a subsidiary of Liverpool John Moores University.

 

Faulkes Telescope North is now owned by Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope Network (LCOGTN). The DFET continues to support the Faulkes Telescope Project team at the University of Cardiff and enable schools access to the telescope Monday-Friday during UK school hours and term times.
